Skywalk Treetop Walk

Skywalk Treetop Walk

Take the panoramic staircase up to the Skywalk. The springy treetop path opens up brilliant views over the entire Allgäu!

Yes, where are we here? The answer: 1000 meters above sea level. Above Scheidegg in the Allgäu on a magnificent hill, the panoramic staircase leads up to the “Skywalk” treetop walk at the Waldwelt Skywalk Allgäu. The feeling? As if you were walking on clouds. The view? Simply magnificent! This excursion destination in the Allgäu is worth it – every day. We promise.

Treetop walk – 540 meters of heart palpitations

Feel it: the ingenious suspension bridge construction swings a little. You walk on springs over elements supported by steel masts. The paths float between the treetops. The effect: the treetop path sways – just like trees do. The effect: a pleasantly pleasurable tingling sensation.

Firmly in view: The most beautiful places in the Allgäu from a highly unusual perspective. The hilly mountain landscape stretches from Lake Constance to the Alpine chain on the suspended path, which reveals a new view every few meters. The highlight is the observation tower. Absolutely #instagramable. Or as grandma says: “Come on, let’s take a photo…”.

She is also in this picture. Because: The “Skywalk” in the Waldwelt Allgäu is 100 percent barrier-free. If you don’t want to climb up the panoramic stairs or climb through the net tunnel and the steep tube slide and then slide down, simply take the glass elevator. Everything is nice and wide at the top, with no steps or landings. An experience for all generations. A perfect basis for a successful family outing in the Allgäu!

Impressive: the Allgäu mountains, Lake Constance, the hilly surroundings of Scheidegg. The view down is at least as impressive. The forest gapes open along the trunks and steel supports, revealing what otherwise only birds can see: the forest cosmos from above. The grounds of the nature adventure park cover around 60,000 square meters – a paradise with adventure playgrounds.

Around 75 percent of the park area is wooded. In the “plenter forest” – a primeval forest-like mixture of plants and trees – daily observation and care is the order of the day. In the high forest, real tree experts ensure natural regeneration. New trees are only replanted in exceptional cases and mature trees are carefully felled.

The result: 30 different, healthy tree species (lots of silver fir!) and steady growth. The look: wild and original. Ecological forestry has a sustainable effect. A goal that was already in focus when the Skywalk was built in 2010: environmental protection! The treetop walk and all other adventure stations are harmoniously integrated into nature without harming the ecosystem. A point of honor: after all, intact nature is exactly our thing.

This is a managed high forest that includes trees of all ages and trunk dimensions. In total, over 30 different tree species grow at the Waldwelt Skywalk. The most common is silver fir. When managing the forest, care is taken to ensure natural regeneration. For this reason, new trees are only replanted in exceptional cases and at the same time individual, mature trees are carefully felled. In this way, a permanent high forest is created that uses natural growth and has a primeval forest-like appearance.
